On Thursday, December 10^th at 9:00 in the North Wing MPR, the Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students will share their gift of music with you at our Christmas program!  Join us for this special, joyous occasion as we learn about the best Christmas present ever given.  To coordinate all classes, please have your child dress in the following outfit:

 

Nice, church-appropriate, Christmas-colored top                               and pants, top and skirt, or dress

Attention Second Grade Parents!

Come one, come all to the Miraculous Christmas Wish Radio Show where all will share their Christmas wishes and one lucky listeners wish may come true!  On Friday, December 11^th at 9:15 a.m. in the North Wing MPR, the first and second grade students will delight you with song and dance in a performance you will cherish for years to come. 

Here are the specific costume needs for your child:

Henry, Micah, Evelyn, Victoria, Albert, Finley, Maddie, Blakely, Alex, Alice, Jake, Lila, Amber, Page, Cameron, David, Jack, Abby, Joshua, Raquel, Julian, Elianna-bright and festive clothes in Christmas colors (red/green/white), make sure your child’s pants/dress has pockets, Santa hat with child’s name labeled on the inside (if you don’t have one you may borrow one from the school.  Just email me to let me know if you need to wear one of ours).

Griffin-(Station Manager)-business type blazer/suit (looks like an adult)

Gage, Campbell, Evan-red, white, and green festive clothes that would be more eccentric than the others (colorful tie, vest, pants, etc…) some type of fun hat (ball cap or fun Santa/elf hat)  They are the DJ’s of the radio program, so think colorful, eccentric, and fun.

Parker, Max, Asa-(elves)-black pants, red long sleeved shirt or turtleneck, Santa hat with child’s name labeled on the inside (if you don’t have one you may borrow one from the school.  Just email me to let me know if you need one of ours).

Miles-(Santa)-white turtleneck, black shoes, (pants will be provided)

Attention First Grade Parents!

Attention First Grade Parents!

        Our fall music program will be Wednesday, October 21^st at 9:15 in the North Wing MPR.  We would love for you to come and celebrate a little night music with us! 

Here is what your child needs to wear that day:

BOYS:  Solid-colored shirt in red, orange, yellow,

brown, or purple and Black pants

GIRLS: Solid-colored shirt in red, orange, yellow,

brown, or purple and Black pants or skirt and tights

 

Please make sure that your child’s shirt is plain and has no writing, graphics, or print on it.  Uniformity will contribute to our fall aesthetic!

Please also note that there will be no professional recording of this program.  You are welcome to bring a recording device of your own should you choose to capture these precious moments on tape!

Kindergarten Program Reminder

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Fall is coming….and so is our first music program!  On Friday, September 25^th at 9:15 in the North Wing Multipurpose Room, the Kindergarten students will perform a musical titled “A New Day”.    

Since our show is about waking up and greeting the new day, I ask that you dress your child in the following clothing:

Pajama top and bottom or long nightgown

Tennis shoes (no flip flops or slippers since students will be moving off and on risers)

Just as a reminder, this program will not be professionally recorded, so pack your camera and do your best to capture the moment for friends and family!

ECC-2^nd Grade Music Teacher

Welcome!

Welcome!  I wanted to take this moment and introduce all of you to this blog, as well as to myself.  I am Rachel O’Connell, the new ECC-2^nd grade music teacher.  Even though I may be new this school year, I am actually not new to St. Paul’s.  From 1995-2001 I started my teaching career at St. Paul’s in this exact position!  I loved my time here and enjoyed every aspect of my job, from chapel, to performances, to making music in the classroom.

During the time I was away I had many wonderful educational experiences that included teaching K-8 in a private school in Lee’s Summit, teaching early childhood music in several centers throughout the Northland, working in special education at the early childhood level with Liberty Public Schools, giving private lessons, and directing several church children’s choirs.  But, the most important event that happened to me was the adoptions of my two sons from Russia.  Caleb (from Ivanovo, Russia, now 11) and Philip (from Yaroslavl, Russia, now 9) are fun, bright, and imaginative boys.  My husband, Bill, and I reside with our family in Liberty, MO.  I am happy to say that both of my boys love music, from singing to playing piano.  Caleb starts band this year.  I’m excited to see which instrument he chooses!

I will continue the St. Paul’s tradition of making music class a fun and safe environment for all to experience and enjoy.  I look forward to the school year and getting to know your students more.  I just keep asking the kids to please be patient with me as I learn everyone’s names!  Thank you so much and I look forward to meeting you all at performances, chapels, or around the halls at school!
